The Good Juice
It’s time to start thinking about what you’ll be drinking over the holidays or maybe more importantly what you’ll be gifting.
We’ve put together a great selection of Bordeaux from one of the region’s top producers (Chateau Teyssier) that would be the ideal gift for any wine lover, a rare mixed case offering from the Megalomaniac crew in Niagara and some festive fizz from the Sparr family in Alsace.

Festive Fizz.....Domaine Pierre Sparr Cremant Brut Rose
$20.95 per bottle. 12 pack
Take a few bottles of this 100% Pinot Noir sparkler to get the party going. The wine is a perennial favourite with the Profile team. It displays many of the traits that we love about Champagne without the price tag. Here’s what the critics have to say about it. “Love those notes of ripe field raspberries and strawberries on a bed of freshly-baked bread. What an amazing price for such a delightful bubbly. This would be terrific for a wedding or large party: both delicious and affordable. So pretty too: float a raspberry on top of every glass you serve for a festive feel.”

Blue Chip Bordeaux....Chateau Teyssier St Emilion Grand Cru 2006 $41.95 per bottle. 12 pack
Winemaker Jonathan Maltus produces wines from three estates on three continents. His main squeeze is the historic Chateau Teyssier estate in St Emilion where he produces some of the most sumptuous and classy wines you’ll find. He also makes some seriously fantastic wines from the Barossa and a new project is under way in the Napa Valley.
Here’s what the Critics have to say about it: “is an outstanding success as well as a sleeper of the vintage. Its dark ruby color is accompanied by plenty of black fruit, licorice, earth, and spice characteristics. It should drink nicely for 8-10 years.”

La Forge St Emilion Grand Cru 2006 $89.95 per bottle. Six Pack
Another stunner from the Jonathan Maltus stable, the La Forge is made predominantly of Merlot with a splash of Cabernet Franc. Jonathan Maltus works with Consulting winemaker Gilles Pauquet, of Cheval Blanc and Canon notoriety, on this wine. Here’s what the Critics have to say about it. “A touch of plum and black cherries on the nose with very fine definition. Full bodied with spicy black fruits, a touch of pain grille with good acidity. Svelte and silky texture that belies the firm grip that you notice on the finish. A brilliant wine for the vintage, it possesses sweet tannins, abundant fruit, and remarkable concentration and intensity for this vintage.”
