Wakefield Estate Chardonnay 2008 +711556 $16.95
Rated 87
"VC: A ripe, luscious, peach-, nectarine- and citrus-scented wine with well-integrated creamy oak tones. This is a clean, balanced, and fruity wine. My note: Robust Chardonnay with big aromas of butterscotch, vanilla smoke and fleshy peach. Full oak treatment in this full-bodied white. Pair with: roast pork, mushroom risotto, Chinese spice-encrusted duck.

Morgenhof Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2008 +18507 $13.95
Rated 88 & Best Value White Wine
Fuller-textured Sauvignon Blanc than usual with pleasing aromas of cut grass, citrus, nettle, melon and green peas. Dry with lots of ripe fruit brought into balance by racy acidity. Nicely made Savvy with hints of both the New and Old World. My note: Herbal and grassy with terrific acidity, this wine delivers great refreshment. Medium-bodied, versatile food companion. Pair with: grilled fish, grilled calamari with a mild sauce."

Morgenhof Estate Chenin Blanc 2008 +978544 $14.95
Rated 88 & Value Rating ***
"Here's an ambitious style of chenin blanc from South Africa with an impressive bit of richness at the price. Treated to barrel ageing, flavours run from the ripe stone and mostly tropical fruit spectrum into crème brulee and sweet baking spice. The finish is long. All in all, a very solid wine for the money."

Chateau Le Bonnat 2007 +170274 $17.95
Rated Explorer's Selection & ** (Very Good)
"Light yellow colour. Complex, intense, spicy, ripe apricot-melon nose with some vanilla-clove notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, complex, clove-tinged, baked, apricot-apple-melon flavours with a lingering, fairly crisp, toasty finish…."

Sweet, spicy, medium bodied, fairly well structured, ripe melon-apple-Seville orange marmalade flavours. Ready-to-drink- with dessert or perhaps foie gras."
