Susana Balbo Signature White Blend Altamira 2016 +558734 $19.95

Very aromatic, with flowers and citrus intermixed with fruit, green apple and chalky notes. Sharp acidity and strong mineral intensity on the palate.

95 Pts – Tim Atkin, Argentina Special Report 2017

“This pioneering blend of equal parts Semillon, Torrontés and Sauvignon Blanc has rapidly established itself as one of the best whites in Argentina. Pale, tangy and smoky, with notes of grapefruit, fresh herbs and orange zest and a hint of spicy oak. 2017-21.”
Les Grandes Serres Les Portes du Castelas 2015 +56183 $15.95

Characteristic of the Grenache grape with red fruit and spices. Complexity as a result of maturation and complimentary grape varieties.

90 Pts – Jeb Dunnuck, The Wine Advocate, December 30, 2016

“Notes of smoked earth, peppery herbs and dark fruits define the 2015 Côtes du Rhône les Portes du Castellas, and it’s medium-bodied, plump, rounded and supple on the palate, yet with plenty of underlying tannic grip. It’s a beautiful Côtes du Rhône to drink over the coming 3-5 years”

Chateau Haut Sociondo Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux 2014 +539957 $18.95

The subtle and pleasant nose of summer berries pierces through unmistakable, softly wooded notes of vanilla and cocoa. Full-bodied roundness underpinned by a high-quality tannic structure.

90 Pts – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, December 12, 2016

“This is a ripe, spicy and full-bodied wine from the Robin group of producers created by Grand Moulin's Jean-Francois Renaud in Blaye. The wine has both structure and rich blackberry fruit. The tannins are dusty, spicy and with fine acidity to balance. Drink this fine wine from 2019.”

Pietra Pura Primitivo di Manduria DOC 2016 +216457 $18.95

A wine with a great structure and a wide range of aromas of ripe cherries, plums and pleasant notes of cacao and vanilla.

Vintages Panel

“Crafted from Primitivo (a.k.a. Zinfandel), this will deliver a full-bodied, dense, round experience. Look for smoke underlying densely layered dark fruit and chocolate. This wine is typically quite ripe, which comes across as sweetness in the mouth. A good reliable mid-week-burger kind of wine.”

Bodegas Altanza Lealtanza Crianza 2014 +114835 $18.95

Sweet red fruit (strawberry, cherry) and licorice aromas blend harmonically with the smoky, “grilled bread”, balsamic notes characteristic of good French oak; there is just a slight hint of earthy, mineral back notes.

91 Pts – James Suckling, December 2, 2016

“A fresh and fruity wine showing blackberry, currant and cherry aromas. Full to medium body with medium silky tannins and a long and flavorful finish. A pleasure to drink now.”
Priest Ranch Grenache Blanc Napa Valley 2016 +361121 $34.95

This is an aromatic white wine with bright aromas of white peach, melons and honeysuckle. The palate is sharp with good acidity and minerality, bright stone fruits and a touch of tannins.

90 Pts – Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast, December 1, 2017

“This concentrated, hearty white was aged entirely in stainless steel. It's full of ripe melon and peach fruit, with a sharp, focused streak of acidity underlying all that richness.”
Segura Viudas Reserva Heredad Cava +558825 $32.95

Fruity and full of flavour, with dried fruits from the lees ageing, but very elegant, giving the drinker a delightful sense of abundance.

92 Pts – Natalie MacLean, June 9, 2018

“Here's your sparkling wine for the summer (and year round)! Terrific value in this well-made, toasty and refreshing bubbly from Spain that's a third of the price of Champagne. Segura is one of the most respected producers of Cava, the Spanish name for sparkling wine. Terrific earthy aromas mingle with toasted almond and some green apple. Great aperitif or try it with roast turkey, fried chicken, or yes, even potato chips. Elegant, layered, refreshing.”
