Peacock’s Fan Sauvignon Blanc 2017 +551531 $17.95

Lifted fresh Sauvignon Blanc purity mixed with grapefruit and fragrant gooseberries. Mouth-filling pithy grapefruit juice and fresh layers of mineral like flavor in the middle palate before a long generous citrus finish.

Vintages Panel, October 2017

“This wine's name refers to the fantail shape of a peacock's feathery display, not to the winemakers being peacock enthusiasts (although to be fair, they probably are). Grown in the cool-climate Eden Valley, this Savvy is bright and citrusy with floral, grass and herb tones embroidering peach, apricot, melon and a touch of guava. Pair it with green salads and grilled prawns.”

Casale del Giglio Satrico Bianco Lazio IGT 2017 +569806 $17.95

This elegant blend reveals a fruity, lightly aromatic yet mineral nose, confirmed on the palate by a pleasing crispness and a lengthy finish.

Vintages Panel, January 2018

“This is named for the ancient city of Satricum, which became the site of a temple to the goddess Mater Matuta. The Romans later incorporated Mater Matuta within their mythology for Aurora, the goddess of the dawn. This blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Trebbiano Giallo is floral and aromatic, with apple, honey and spice tones and a lively juicy acidity. This will have great versatility with food but will be also be superb as a sipper or with simple salads and fish dishes.”

Romio Primitivo Puglia IGT 2016 +569954 $13.95

The nose is typical of Primitivo, with lots black fruit, spice and white pepper. Layered and rich on the mouth, with jammy black cherries, truffles, espresso and a dense, creamy texture.

Vintages Panel, January 2018

“Primitivo (known in California as Zinfandel) is a signature red grape of the warm, sunny Puglia region, which forms the stiletto heel of Italy's 'boot.' This Prim offers spicy plum, blackberry fruit and cola notes wrapped in velvety tannins and lingering on a nice, smooth finish. A good choice for grilled eggplant sandwiches, or pizza with tomato and onion.”
