93 & Best Buy & Gold –, 2017

“Dark black violet color. Aromas and flavors of wet earth, blackberry jam, saddle, and smoked poblano pepper with a slightly chewy, vibrant, dry medium-to-full body and a peppery, refreshing, medium-long lavender, twigs and stems, and dried pomegranate finish with chewy, dusty tannins and moderate oak. Well-integrated aromas and flavors along with a rustic yet refined edge make wine drinkers seeking adventure beg for another sip.”

J. Lohr Hilltop Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 + 686584 $49.95

The 2015 J. Lohr Hilltop Cabernet Sauvignon has exceptional color intensity with a vibrant red hue. Ripe Cabernet varietal aromas of black plum, violet and tobacco are complemented by a touch of hazelnut and cocoa powder from the French oak barrel signature. A dense but approachable mid-palate is followed by intense and vibrant red fruit on the finish.

91 Pts & Editors Choice – Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast, July 2018

“This wine is bursting in lavish aromas of blueberry, black currant and fudge that lead into a palate full of mouthcoating tannins and solid acidity. Blackberry, black plum and dried herb flavours complete the picture.”
Dandelion Vineyards Lion’s Tooth of McLaren Vale Shiraz Riesling 2016 +311233 $21.95

Deep purple with hints of violet on the edges, indicating youth. Impressive purity of fruit showing lush scents of summer pudding with lifted red fruits, berries and a hit of cinnamon. Wild black cherries, Damson plums, mulberries and milk chocolate undertones. Generous mouthfilling sweet blackberry, raspberry and plums cover the palate with lashings of sweet spice. Firm but fine tannins and milk chocolaty nuances enhance the purity of fruit and continue through with a youthful finish.

“A handy combination that delivers a vibrant boysenberry- and strawberry-flavoured shiraz. Pomegranate and spices, too. The palate is tangy and packed with crunch. Drink now.”
