Bodegas LAN Gran Reserva 2010 + 928622 $34.95
Garnet with ruby hues. Aromas of ripe red fruits combined with spicy notes from the aging in oak (vanilla, cinnamon, fennel, licorice root) and tertiary aromas (leather, cigar box…) from its prolonged bottle aging. Full bodied and round, its mouthfeel is elegant and very well balanced. Food pairing: roasted meats, lamb, hearty stews and cured cheeses.
93 pts - James Suckling, August 2, 2018
“This sits above the pack for concentration and freshness. There’s a spicy oak thread that is nicely matched to the rich and ripe fruit. Assertive flavors on the palate with rich, sweet, dark berries and plums and plenty of spice and tannins. Looking good. Drink or hold”
Montes Alpha Carmenere 2015 + 143230 $19.95
The Montes Alpha Carmenère is a deep and intense ruby red in colour with bright violet nuances. The nose recalls ripe black berry fruit and plums with notes of black pepper and chocolate. The palate is especially smooth, well structured, and balanced with nicely rounded tannins and a long, pleasing finish.
92 Pts – James Suckling, May 29, 2017
“Very fine and beautiful with blackberry, rose petal and blueberry. Medium body, firm and silky. Pleasing wine. Drink now.”
Susana Balbo Signature Malbec 2016 +79798 $19.95
Beautiful deep violet colour with exploding aromas of blackberry, black cherry and blueberries framed by hints of spices and mint. The wonderful aromas are mirrored on the palate and they are joined by ripe plum fruit and notes of toasty vanilla, bittersweet chocolate and a hint of mint on the finish. This is a ripe and rich style of wine with long velvety finish.
92+ pts - Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com, June 29, 2018
“The style of the 2016 Susana Balbo Signature Malbec shows the hand of the winemaker, with a little warmer fermentation and perhaps a little more extraction. However, in the cooler and wetter 2016, this feels as fresh and floral as the BenMarco Malbec, and it has a polished and balanced palate, with some fine-grained tannins and clean, pure flavors. Precise, focused and fresh. 100,000 bottles produced.”
Pierre Sparr Gewurtzaminer Reserve 2016 +747600 $18.95
Featuring bright yellow highlights, this wine offers an exuberant aromatic palette of exotic fruits (lychee, passion fruit, pineapple, mango, apricot), flowers (rose, acacia), citrus and spices with a subtle thread of honey. On the palate, this Gewurztraminer is a full-bodied wine with solid structure and flavours that mirror the aromas plus a hint of anise. The rich, mouth-filling character lingers, seducing another sip.
92 pts - Wilson Daniels, Wine & Spirits, April 2018
“This wine’s rose scent might remind you of spring; it’s charming in its spicy intensity, tight and yet continually giving. The pale fruit is mostly about textural richness, which makes this an appealing match for cracked crab”
Susana Balbo BenMarco Malbec 2015 +657601 $18.95
Los Chacayes is an extraordinary Terroir. Its sandy loam and rocky soils guarantee good permeability, limit plants growth and assure perfect ripeness. BenMarco Malbec is a testament to Uco Valley where it hails from, proffering aromas of fresh black fruit and floral notes of violets. The palate shows great balance, very fine tannins and a thread of acidity going through its core, lifting it up and going its length.
92 pts - James Suckling, June 21, 2017
“Wonderfully perfumed and pure with blackberry and violet aromas. Medium to full body, very fine tannins and a fresh and long finish. Linear and polished. So right now. Drink and enjoy”
J. Lohr October Night Chardonnay Arroyo Seco 2016 +225375 $34.95
The 2016 J. Lohr October Night Chardonnay is a pale straw yellow in color, with exotic floral aromas of gardenia, orange blossom, honeysuckle, and baking spices. Traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques, such as weekly stirring of the lees in French oak barrels, were used to complement these aromatics, providing creamy palate texture. This unique Chardonnay blend provides balanced and complex flavors of ripe citrus and white peaches, and offers a hint of sweet chocolate and toasted oak on the long finish.
91 pts - Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast, July 1, 2018
“Baked apple, lime pith, butter-poached pear and almonds show on the nose of this ripe bottling. There is a tightly wound texture to the palate, carrying flavors of apple and nectarine, with a citrus-driven grapefruit pith finish”
J. Lohr Falcon’s Perch Pinot Noir Monterey 2016 +361717 $29.95
The 2016 J. Lohr Estates Falcon’s Perch showcases the best of cool climate Monterey County Pinot Noir. Bright cherry, blood orange and holiday spices on the nose are followed by vibrant fruit and talc on the palate.
88 pts - Rich Cook, winereviewonline.com, January 16, 2018
“A solid, budget friendly Pinot Noir for fans of bright oak spice and ripe black cherry fruit, with moderate toast, a long lasting impression of the spice and a little citrus. Try a spice and herb driven sauce over chicken or beef as a pairing.”

“A density and freshness to this with oyster shell, blueberry and dark chocolate character. Full and savory. Drink now or hold."

Settimo Rosso Toscana 2013
Bright intense ruby red coloured Supertuscan wine with a rich and sophisticated bouquet. Perfect balance between grape tannins and wood tannins that make it tasty, full bodied, with a persistent aftertaste. Noble wine.
90 pts - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, November 15, 2016

Bodegas LAN - LAN Reserva & Crianza Gift Box +577890 $44.95
From a beloved producer. Tim Atkin awarded these impressive Tempranillo wines
92 and 91 points, respectively.
LAN Reserva 2011
Bright cherry colour. Aromatically intense and complex. Aromas of red fruit wrapped with notes of vanilla and spices. Hints of cinnamon and balsamic. Velvety, delicate and smooth in the mouth. Elegant, balanced and harmonious. Long aftertaste.
92 Pts – Tim Atkins, 2018
“I’m increasingly impressed by the consistent quality from this medium-sized, Sogrape – owned bodega, typified by this blend of Tempranillo with 5% each of Mazuelo and Graciano, all from the western end of the region. Chalky, focused and aromatic with fine tannins and scented oak.”
LAN Crianza 2014
Intense red cherry colour. Aromas of red fruits, strawberry, raspberry and cranberry framed by fine nuances of vanilla and toffee. Silky and structured on the palate, it has a long lasting and satisfying finish.
91 Pts – Tim Atkins, 2018
“LAN only use fruit from Rioja Alta and Alavesa for their Crianza, eschewing the Rioja Oriental. The result is a modern richy coloured cuvee of Tempranillo with 3% mazuelo. Given the size of the blend – two million bottles - this is commendably consistent, with fine tannins and crunchy plum and black cherry fruit.”
