With this outstanding Chianti Classico Riserva, the Marquis Mazzei celebrates their notable ancestor Ser Lapo, author of the first official document mentioning “Chianti wine”. Fresh, with aromas of berries. Strong structure and intense taste.

95 Pts – James Suckling, September 11, 2018

“There’s cedar and tobacco here, but it’s backed up with lovely, fresh wild strawberries, raspberry cheesecake and redcurrants. Full body, polished tannins and beautifully linear acidity. Finishes long and elegantly. Drink now.”

Lungarotti - Rubesco Rosso di Torgiano DOC 2015 +368548 $19.95

Deep ruby red with slight violet hues. The bouquet is delicate and with good intensity, elegant complexity with hints of pepper, cinnamon and tobacco; background notes of red jam and violet. The wine has a solid structure and superb concentration. It evolves with fresh acidity; austere, balanced tannins with a fruity and slightly mineral finish.

Food Pairing: Excellent with pasta or risotto, barbecue, roasted red and white meats and naturally cheeses.

95 Pts – Luca Maroni, July 13, 2018

Montes - Alpha Chardonnay 2016 +390203 $19.95

Attractive, bright golden yellow in colour. The intense, complex nose offers tropical fruit aromas such as pineapple, banana, and ripe mango, while pleasing notes of peaches and pears round out the fruity profile. The coastal climate is very much present in the subtle notes of grapefruit and white asparagus. The French oak also compliments the aromatic profile with very elegant and well-integrated toasted notes that recall hazelnut and vanilla. Smooth attack on the palate with perfectly balanced acidity, resulting in a very fresh wine that also has generous volume. This Alpha Chardonnay ends with a long and elegant finish that invites another glass.

93 Pts – James Suckling, March 16, 2018

“This is a very serious chardonnay with pie-crust and cooked-apple character. Full body, tight and focused. Beautiful and long. Small percentage of new wood and malolactic fermentation. Excellent. Drink now.”

Montes - Alpha Merlot 2015 +22228 $19.95

Deep and intense cherry red with violet nuances. The nose is complex with varied aromas of ripe black and red fruits such as blackberries, figs, and plums in syrup. Spice notes of black and red pepper intermingle with a touch of fresh tobacco and leather. Light toasted notes from time spent in French oak barrels rest upon a fruity backdrop and lend interesting sweet notes to the mid-palate. This is a well-structured wine with good volume on the palate and smooth, round tannins that make this an ideal wine to enjoy now or over the course of the next 10 years. It ends with a long and elegant finish that leaves a ripe sensation very much in line with the aromas.

92 Pts – James Suckling, March 16, 2018

“Some herb and spice character with a smoky and dark berry character. Full body, good density and a fruity and juicy finish. Drink now or hold.”

Vesevo - Beneventano Falanghina IGT 2017 +289538 $16.95

Bright straw yellow. Intense aroma, quite persistent, fruity. Medium-bodied, well balanced, quite intense and persistent.

Food Pairing: Great as aperitif, matches light main courses, white meat, young cheeses, ideal with fish.

92 Pts – Luca Maroni, June 7, 2018
Morambro Creek – Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz Cabernet 2017 +186114 $16.95

Deep purple colour. Boysenberry and mulberry aromas with a hint of cedar and pepper. Similar berry fruits show through on the opulent, textured palate with a lingering finish.

90 Pts & Gold –, June 7, 2018

“Garnet black color. Exotic, attractive aromas and flavors of chocolate mint, black raspberry tart a la mode, and basil and curry leaves with a silky, bright, fruity medium body and an interesting, medium-length spiced nuts, chocolate herb muffin, hint of marinated peppers, and vanilla pod finish with fine, chewy tannins. An exotically spicy and herbal shiraz with a great style and sense of place.”
