Poggio San Polo – Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2013 +650812 $69.95

Intense ruby red in colour with garnet hues, clear and glossy. The bouquet exhibits typical aromas of violets and small red berries. Subtle nuances of forest undergrowth, aromatic wood, a touch of vanilla and jammy mixed fruit then give way to subtle hints of coffee. This Brunello is intense, persistent, broad and heady. Full-bodied and warm on the palate, with a densely-woven texture and robust body, it has a persistent finish with well-rounded tannins. The particular features of the terroir at San Polo produce a Brunello with a capacity for lengthy ageing, while patient cellaring enhances the wine during aging in the bottle.

Food Pairing: Red meats and game accompanied by mushrooms and truffles. It is ideal with matured cheeses, such as Parmigiano Reggiano and Tuscan pecorino.

96 Pts & Cellar Selection – Kerin O’Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, May 1, 2018

“Woodland berry, forest floor, exotic spice and tobacco aromas escape the glass. It's bright and loaded with finesse, delivering crushed red cherry, juicy cranberry, cinnamon and clove framed in taut fine-grained tannins. Vibrant acidity lends exquisite balance while a star anise note closes the lingering finish. I love the classic vibe on this—it's the best offering I've had to date from this dynamic estate. Drink 2021–2038.”

Rocca Delle Macie - Chianti Classico Riserva Famiglia Zingarelli 2015 +930966 $24.95

Ruby red colour. The nose is ample, intense and refined, with excellent variety of aromas. The taste is warm, robust, and elegant with a persistent aroma.

Food Pairing: This wine is particularly suited for red meats, roasts, wild game and dry cheeses.

95 Pts – James Suckling, September 11, 2018

“Aromas of blackberries, wet earth, lavender and blueberries. Full-bodied, deep and layered with bright acidity and a bacon-fat, mushroom, smoked-meat and fruit aftertaste. Soft tannins, too. A unique wine. Drink now or hold.”

Velenosi - Villa Angela Pecorino Offida, 2017 +173252 $15.95

Straw yellow with green hues. Fine and elegant nose, yellow fruits and flowers, with sage, thyme and broom hints. The perfect aging of the grapes is the highest potential of this wine on the palate: well balanced, smooth and fresh at first, followed by a pleasant texture and flavour enhancer. The great structure and pleasant minerality makes this wine fresh and inviting.

91 Pts – Luca Maroni, July 4, 2018

Pierre Sparr – Sol Grès Riesling 2016 +644419 $19.95

Beautiful golden colour. Dry, elegant, rich flavors, very marked by citrus notes. A very nice wine on the palate. Full bodied and well balanced with a magnificent expression of an exceptional terroir.

Food Pairing: aperitif, fish in sauce (cream), young cheese or simply a small tasting between friends.

91 Pts – Sara d’Amato, WineAlign, March 22, 2019

“Bright, lightly toasty, and highly textured. This sandstone grown riesling offers a mineral driven palate with a hint of pleasant lactic character. Floral, with an abundance of peach fruit. The acid is nicely curbed with only a hint of sweetness. A textbook Alsatian style at a fair price.”

Donatien Bahuaud - Les Grand Mortiers Vouvray 2017 +140889 $20.95

Pale yellow colour with green hues. Fresh fruit apple, peach. Well-structured wine, nice acid frame typical of the chalky terroir of Vouvray.

Food Pairing: Fruit salads, spicy cuisine, thai specialities.

90 Pts – David Lawrason, WineAlign, November 21, 2018

“This is a quite fine-boned, off-dry chenin blanc showing the calcerous tuffeau soils of Vouvray very nicely. There is lovely underlying delicacy. The nose captures typical pear/quince, linden flower, honeycomb and flinty notes. The firm acidity carries the sweetness nicely; the length is very good. Scores on balance not depth.”

Wakefield - Estate Chardonnay 2017 +711556 $15.95

At release, the wine is a pale straw with a slight green hue to the edge. Delightful aromas of white peach, nectarines, tropical fruit and citrus zest with a hint of cashew. Fresh flavours of stonefruit combine with cashews and an underlying toastness from the barrel fermentation to deliver a mouth-filling and enjoyable wine. The wine has a clean, elegant palate, a zesty acid backbone and long, persistent finish.

Gold – China Wine & Spirit Awards 2018

J. Lohr – Hilltop Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 +686584 $49.95

“2016 Hilltop Cabernet shows dark fruit, chocolate, graphite and anise on the nose. The palate is dense and soft at once with layers of mineral, sweet oak barrel and fresh savory notes.” — Steve Peck, director of winemaking.

Food Pairing: Delicious with rosemary-seasoned ribeye and garlic roasted potatoes with parsnips and fennel.
