Dandelion – Lionheart of the Barossa Shiraz 2017 375ml +358127 $12.95

Lifted blue fruits, blood plum, ripe blackberries and Christmas pudding-like spice flow out of the glass with spicy pepper, and hints of bramble and dark chocolate. Generous mouth filling sweet blackberry, raspberry and plums cover the palate with lashings of sweet spice. Firm but fine tannins and dark chocolaty nuances continue throughout the lengthy palate with youthful finish.

95 Pts & Gold – James Halliday,, January 1, 2019

“Hand-picked, crushed to open fermenters, 8 days on skins, matured for 18 months in mainly used French oak. High quality Barossa fruit, part grown by famous vignerons, floods the mouth, and the cool vintage has preserved the elegance and juicy highlights of the fruit. Oak has made a perfunctory contribution to a lovely wine.”

Montes – Alpha Special Cuvee Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 +649160 $24.95

Deep ruby red in colour with violet tones. The nose is elegant, intense, and complex, with a wide range of ripe red and black fruit aromas. A touch of crème de cassis and tobacco leave clear evidence of the unmistakable character of Cabernet Sauvignon from the Colchagua Valley. Fragrances of spices such as nutmeg, red pepper, and anise intermingle with pastry notes. The palate is potent, voluminous, and well structured. Aging in French oak barrels lends greater complexity and encourages perfectly rounded tannins that contribute a very pleasing sense of sweetness on the mid-palate, and light dairy notes appear on the long and elegant finish.

94 Pts – James Suckling, March 16, 2018

“A tight and solid structured cabernet with chocolate, hazelnut and currant character. Full body, some tannins yet polished and very pretty. Needs two to three years to soften...”

Wakefield - Estate Merlot 2017 +683201 $19.95

At release, the wine is a vibrant, youthful red with intense red/purple hue. It displays lifted aromas if raspberry, cherry and violets with enticing vanilla bean, spice and cinnamon from quality oak maturation. The wine showcases layers of ripe, dark fruit alongside rich fruit cake characters. The texture is exactly as you would expect with a velvety softness. Oak maturation has delivered flavours of vanilla, mocha and subtle spice and the finish has a pleasing degree of elegance.

91 Pts & Gold –, August 8, 2018

“Deep purple color. Spicy aromas of ivory, charcoal briquettes, eucalyptus, juniper, fine soap, and cracked pepper with a satiny, vibrant, fruity medium-to-full body and a graceful, refreshing, medium-long raspberry macaron, black cassis, allspice, and black mint finish with well-integrated tannins and moderate oak flavor. An exotically herbal, fantastically balanced merlot that is at once approachable and serious.”

Chateau Peyros - Tannat-Cabernet Madiran 2014 +208249 $17.95

Deep and intense ruby-red colour. Powerful nose, black berries, classic of the Tannat grape. Supple in the mouth, soft, with full and well rounded tannins. Taste of cherry with bright freshness on the finish. To conclude, great fineness and full maturity.

Food Pairing: Will pair with roasted meat (lamb, beef), barbecue, meats in sauce, duck magret, cheese.

91 Pts & Best Buy – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, June 1, 2018

“Under the same ownership as Château Haut-Selve of Bordeaux, this estate produces a structured Madiran. It's a richly perfumed wine, showing great tannins as well as generous, juicy black fruits and acidity. It will be ready to drink from 2020.”

Grevepesa - Clemente VII Chianti Classico 2015 +421388 $18.95

Intense ruby red coloured wine with a strong wild berry flavour, well integrated with a hint of spices and toasted vanilla. The taste profile is a perfect harmony with sweet tannins that make it velvety and well balanced.

Food Pairing: Starters, cheese, pasta, grilled and roasted meat, including game recipes.

91 Pts – James Suckling, October 20, 2017

“A brooding Chianti Classico with dark cherries, brambles, hot stones, sage, mocha-scented oak, plum liqueur and hints of vanilla. Full body, a wealth of explosive black fruit, ripe, round tannins, a fine line of acidity and a chewy finish. Drink now.”
