Montes Wines - Purple Angel 2015 +62364 $62.95

Impressive deep purplish-red in colour. The nose presents its habitual elegance with outstanding ripe red and black berries over a backdrop of sweet spices. Dark chocolate and mocha notes from aging in French oak combine very well with the variety’s characteristic fruity aromas, resulting in a wine with tremendous aromatic complexity that continues to open with layer after layer of new and delicious sensations. The palate is well structured with soft, ample tannins. Acidity from the Petit Verdot lends juiciness and central nerve, qualities that predict excellent evolution and exceptional aging potential. The remarkable finish is elegant and very much in accordance with the nose. This is clearly an ideal wine to enjoy no or in years to come.

99 Pts – James Suckling, March 16, 2018

“This is perhaps the greatest Purple Angel ever. Full body, tight and compressed with an amazing texture and density. Fantastic fine tannins that are silky and polished. I love the energy and intensity. A blend of 92% carmenere and 8% petit verdot. One for the cellar but I can't wait to drink it again.”

Susana Balbo - Signature Barrel Fermented Torrontes 2017 +384339 $19.95

Pale gold with bright reflections. On the nose, this wine seduces because of its hints of white pear, white flowers and ripe peach. On the palate, it has beautiful structure and acidity along with enticing fruit flavours. Plenty of body for a wine that shows such delicate aromas and flavours. Fruity, floral and yet still quite dry.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with delicate flavours such as fish and shellfish. Spicy and aromatic Indian, Chinese, and Thai cuisine, also go very well with this wine.

95 Pts – Tim Atkin’s Best of Argentina Report 2018

“First produced as recently as 2012, Susana Balbo’s oaked white tastes like a Torrontes crossed with a top Sauvignon Blanc, such is its focus, minerality and acidity. Tangy and saline, it’s skilfully oaked, with new wood folded into the wine. The source– Paraje Altamira—is everything here. 2018-2022.”

Wakefield Estate - Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 +744235 $19.95

At release, the wine is a deep red with a vibrant purple hue. The wine has an aroma of rich blackcurrant, subtle spice, tomato leaf and a touch of eucalypt. French oak maturation is also evident with subtle aromas of cedar and dark chocolate. This is a wine of great intensity. It has distinctive blackcurrant and cassis fruit flavours. Subtle oak characters of cedar cigar box and spice are also evident. The tannins are fine and elegant – a hallmark of the varietal. The palate is well balanced, complex and fulfilling and lingers on the finish.

93 Pts & Gold & Best Buy – Tastings.com, January 5, 2018

“Deep purple color. Fruity aromas and flavors of cassis pie, roasted pepper relish, pencil shavings, and chocolate with a supple, bright, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and an amusing, medium-long boysenberries, cedar bark, and dried eucalyptus finish with fine, dusty tannins and no oak. A rich, herbal cabernet for rich, spicy meals or a nice rest in the cellar.”

Mazzei - Poggio Badiola di Fonterutoli Toscana 2016 +330951 $19.95

Completely produced from high-altitude vineyards in the heart of Chianti Classico, surrounding a tenth century Century Romanic church, it greatly combines the finesse of the freshest Sangiovese with the structure and smoothness of the Merlot. Elegant, fresh red berry flavours, velvety, aromatic and supple.

Food pairing: Cold cuts, pasta with meat/game sauce, pizza, grilled fish, pot roast.

92 Pts – James Suckling, September 11, 2018

“Ash, black cherries, dried spices and some plummy notes are what predominate on the nose. Full body, medium-chewy tannins and a flavorful finish ..."

Dandelion Vineyards - Honeypot of the Barossa Roussane 2017 +632026 $19.95

Dazzling, pristine green tinged straw edges. Bright and lifted aromas of fresh cut pear and clingstone peach accented by citrus blossom and soft floral notes. Fresh, textural acidity is complimented with juicy Nashi pear, honeydew melon and lemon sherbet flavours all entwined with a middle palate viscosity that makes it refreshing, soft and juicy. Almost impossible to over-chill, this wine can be drunk with an amazing array of foods or just by itself. The acidity and freshness is the key to keeping all the flavour to the forefront.

90 Pts – James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, September 10, 2018

“Stainless steel-fermented and early bottled. How on earth so much flavour has been captured I have no idea. Roussanne normally needs 5 or more years to come out of its neonatal slumber.”

Segura Viudas – Reserva Heredad Rose Cava +314757 $39.95

A Cava whose salmon or pale pink colour is most pleasing on the eye, and which seduces us with the rich nuances of its fresh fruit flavours. All this means that this Pinot Noir, specifically selected and created to make Cava is refreshing, a high fruit profile, but perfectly balanced in body, alcohol married with fruit, ripe red fruit, grenadine with bright redcurrants, over a backdrop of freshly picked flowers. On the palate it is full of personality, its acidity a beacon, lively and natural, but also creating body and intensity, in perfect harmony with those ripe red fruits.

Food Pairing: classic risottos, black and white truffles (in season), firm textured fish – monk fish, lobster crayfish and cod.

Gold Medal – Champagne and Sparkling Championships UK, 2015

Wither Hills – Sauvignon Blanc 2018 +919514 $19.95

This Sauvignon Blanc exudes vibrant ripe citrus notes, crunchy greensand and hints of tropical guava on the nose. The palate is refined and elegant with superb natural fruit weight providing a juicy core of layered fruit, entwined with a salty textural acidity, vibrant citrus and a moreish dry chalky finish.
