Bodegas LAN www.bodegaslan.com
Bodegas LAN takes its name from the names of the three regions in which the grapes for their wines are grown - Logrono, Alava and Navarra. The company was founded in 1970.
Situated in Fuenmayor, in the Rioja Alta sub-region, Lan boasts a wonderful 80 hectares Estate named Finca El Cortijo, where it cultivates all of Rioja's red native varieties (Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano) plus Cabernet Sauvignon. The average age of the plants is 30 years, yielding astonishing aged reds -crianzas, reservas and gran reservas- all marketed under the Lan label. But crown jewels, only to be released in exceptional vintages, are its labels Viña Lanciano and Culmen, the latter an even more restrictive cuvée.
LAN's wines are subtle and concentrated, with the potential to develop slowly in bottle for years to come, produced by a bodega that is consistently gaining in quality and worldwide acclaim.
