J. Bouchon's traditions go a long way back - to 1892 - when G. Bouchon, a native of Bordeaux (France) arrived in Chile and settled in the Maule Valley, south of Santiago. Mr. Julio Bouchon S., the current president, is an Agronomist who graduated from the Unversity of Chile and holds an Enologist degree from the Bordeaux University.

The company's vineyards are located in the Maule Valley, in the coastal rainfall area. These vineyards mainly cover a total of 370 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Malbec, Carmenere and Chardonnay varieties.

The wine cellars facilities were designed and, to a great extent, imported from Australia in 1991. They are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and at present, have a capacity of 1,400,000 litres in stainless steel tanks and 50,000 litres in European oak barrels.
