When the top 50 Vineyards of 2022 were announced, Montes Wines was selected the number #1 Vineyard in South America and the number #3 Vineyard in the World. It is the fourth consecutive year that they have been acknowledged.  Montes Wines immediately wanted to recognize all of their staff and colleagues, who make up the Montes family and who work hard to make the winery a special place to visit, earning them these important accolades. The objective of the World’s Best Vineyards Awards is to raise the profile of enotourism and attract visitors and tourists to explore the experiences offered by the world’s leading wineries and cellars; to taste excellent wines and to learn about winemaking and grape growing. 

 Wineries are nominated and judged according to the overall experience of a tour, which covers subjects such as: the wines, the food, the atmosphere, the staff, the architecture and natural surroundings, its value for money, the winery's reputation and accessibility.

 The Montes Experience 

It begins with the Montes wines. Montes has been producing wines of exceptional character and distinction for more than 30 years.

A visit to the winery, which has been designed in line with the ancient practice of Feng Shui, stands out because of the splendid location and stunning views of the Colchagua Valley.

Visitors can also explore the local flora and fauna of their six-kilometre nature trail through surrounding woods and hills.  Guided tours will take one down to the cellars, where one will find 800 oak barrels in a spectacular semi-circular arrangement being serenaded by Gregorian chants to give the wines the optimal ageing conditions. Everything’s a bit otherworldly here, with an overarching sense of calm and positivity.

After a tour, visitors can enjoy a range of delicious dishes at the Fuegos de Apalta restaurant, run by world-renowned Argentine chef, Francis Mallmann, all accompanied, of course, by the best Montes wines.
